About Martin Family Orthodontics
Martin Family Orthodontics is a boutique orthodontic practice in Longmont, Colorado, founded and led by Dr. Laurel Martin. We have served patients across Boulder County and the Colorado Front Range for more than 25 years, and we built this practice around a simple idea: orthodontic care should be personal, evidence-based, and built around how your teeth and jaw function for a lifetime, not just how they look on the day your braces come off.

About
Many orthodontic offices today operate at high volume, with multiple doctors rotating through chairs and treatment plans handed off between assistants. That model can work for some patients, but it is not how we practice.
At Martin Family Orthodontics, every diagnosis, every treatment plan, and every adjustment is reviewed by Dr. Martin personally. We deliberately keep our patient panel smaller so we can offer longer appointment times, deeper consultations, and the kind of relationship where you actually know the doctor treating you.
That boutique structure is what allows us to take on cases that other practices avoid, including complex bite issues, adult patients with prior orthodontic work, and cases that benefit from a combined orthodontic and surgical approach.

Our Approach to Treatment
Three principles guide how we plan every case.
Function first, aesthetics close behind.
Beautiful teeth that do not bite together correctly will give you trouble later. We plan around healthy occlusion, balanced jaw motion, and stable long-term results. The aesthetic outcome follows from doing the underlying biomechanics right.
Diagnostics before decisions.
We use 3D CT imaging, iTero digital impressions, and digital and panoramic X-rays to understand exactly what is happening inside the bone, not just at the surface of the teeth. Better diagnostic information leads to more predictable outcomes and fewer mid-treatment surprises.
Custom plans, not protocols.
wo patients with similar-looking teeth often need very different treatment paths. We do not run patients through preset protocols. Each plan is designed around the specific anatomy, goals, and lifestyle of the person in the chair.

Meet the Doctor
Dr. Laurel Martin completed her undergraduate education at Arizona State University, earned her dental degree at the University of Colorado, and completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Iowa, where she now serves as an Adjunct Professor. She is published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, lectures internationally on advanced orthodontic technology, and contributes to product development with Dentsply and Reliance Orthodontics.
